The Barberry Group was formed in 2002 to be at the forefront of materials handling, terminal management and rail logistics flow management in the rail sector.
 
The initial investment in STS (SA) gave Barberry Group an asset focus, which complimented the logistics expertise of our various Group businesses. Barberry Group aims to capitalise on the significant opportunities that are presenting themselves with the renewal and restructuring of the rail sector, both in South and Southern Africa, which is based on international experiences of privatisation, and which is orientated to rolling-stock (wagons and locomotives) as well as certain infrastructure ownership moving into private hands or public/private partnerships. Our Founding Members and Shareholders have an intimate knowledge of the rail industry; and their passion for rail logistics will enable the Barberry Group to be well positioned to capitalise on these unfolding opportunities.

SMART RAIL IN MOTION - is primarily focused on lowering the Customers costs of logistics, while ensuring a safe, reliable and consistent service is provided.
 
SMART Rail in Motion is centred around the Barberry Group designing, implementing, operating and managing innovative Rail Supply Chain Solutions, encompassing a complete offering of materials handling, terminal/rail siding management, and rail logistics flow management; in effect an integrated end-to-end solution from one organisation.
 
To re-emphasise, the Barberry Group services are offered to Customers throughout South and Southern Africa and our detailed industry knowledge and strategic partnerships are deployed to unlock value especially in the bulk commodity and intermodal sectors.
