  • Member of team involved in the BEE allocation at Richards Bay Coal Terminal and daily Rail Management going forward.
  • Participant in the Maputo Corridor Logistics Initiative(MCLI).
SASHEN GOVENDER
Director
  • 6 years experience in rail management within the South African region, specifically in terms of Load Out Point Management, Border Interfacing and Client Liaison
  • 5 years experience handling Coal Exports from Anglo facilities in SA to Zimbabwe
IAN BIRD
Marketing and Strategy executive
  • In excess of 27 years’ experience in the rail sector in South and Southern Africa
  • Former Management Accountant of Spoornet (now Transnet Freight Rail) and later the managing executive of Spoornet’s export coal operation (COALlink – now the Coal Line)
  • Has worked in many Africa jurisdictions for mining majors and has spent a number of years developing logistics for the junior mining industry.
  • Has served as an executive consultant to ESKOM (rail and road logistics), EXXARO (export coal logistics) and Barloworld Logistics (rail supply chain solutions)
KGOMOTSO MOTLANTHE
People and Stakeholder Relations executive
  • Skilled in road transport - planning through to project implementation, specifically operational experience Kuruman, Lephalale, Musina and Southern African region.
  • Previously responsible for significant stakeholder engagements, including mine owners, personnel and the local tribal authorities in communities;
  • Tasked with building capacity of the Barberry personnel within the organisation, resulting in developed individuals and teams that ensure excellent and consistent customer service.
  • CSR Portfolio management with strategic underlying focus to ensure meaningful, sustainable, and growth-orientated Socio-Economic and Enterprise Development models
    Ensuring that financial performance is achieved while satisfying and exceeding Environmental and Social benchmarks as stipulated by legislation and beyond.
